The Place of James Pain

Here’s an insight to my to buy list, just because I fancy posting it.

• Adobe CS5
  The era of CS4 is over and from 12th April, Adobe will host an event (of which I’ll be attending) that will launch CS5. As I’m still technically still a student since I’ve only suspended my studies (I don’t plan on concluding them) I’ll be able to get it for £~900. It’s still pricey but I don’t fancy paying the full price of £~3,000
• Microsoft Office 2007
  Purely because Google Docs isn’t quite cutting it for me as a physical…let me rephrase that…as a offline program would.
• Windows 7
  It rules oh so much more than any of the previous Windows.
• Stills Camera
  My current camera, the Canon 350D, has two problems at this moment.
  1) It’s auto focus is broken.
  2) It’s lost
• Tripod
  My current tripod has desired to break which has enlightened me on it being held togeather by glue. I need a good, heavy duty one for my needs.
• Non static mat
  I’m converting my garage into a workshop for myself to build and fix computers. I plan on lining the worktops with an anti static mat.
• RAM Upgrade
  I have 4GB at the moment and that’s working fine for me at the moment. I have 2 slots to spare for a RAM upgrade. The thing is, GTA IV (the game) uses up all of it with none to spare. It’s more of a luxury item so I can play GTA even better.
• Computer Testing Rig
  This is a fantastic thing I found a few months back. It’s an open computer enclosure to house a testing computer. The purpose is to replace a part with a suspected non working part of a clients computer. • Computer Chairs
  The one I’m using at this moment I’ve had for too many years and it’s not doing any favours for my posture nor comfort levels. It’s a plural because I need another one for my garage workshop.
• Bigger Desk
  To house the below
• 2nd Monitor
  I’m a designer of so many things, it’s only right I have a second monitor.
• 2nd GFX Card
  See my GTA excuse
• Video Camera
  My current video camera is becoming obsolete very quickly with the wide spread arrival of HD and the fact that it didn’t survive too well in a mosh pit. Not to mention it runs on MiniDV tapes.
• Lighting
  To go with my cameras, for good lighting of….things….

It’ll take a good year to get all of this list. Especially since the last two cost £2,000 each.
